Until It Echoes No More

Empty house
The dirty ceramic sink
Condensation drips

The wind howls
Wolves are jealous in the rain
River waters rise

Man stands still
The thumb of god presses down
Humbled tree bows down

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "WHAT A RIDE
