The stars decided, this is it,
it's time to chase the clouds away
and show the world the glory of
resuscitated passion.

The moon in agreement
shrugged off despondency
and glowed with remembrances
of a time long past and gone.

The wind was still in honour of
time's amazing grace
that brings to all who stand and wait
the chance to start again.

And I stood beneath this canopy
immobile with the drop of cares
and fear for love's survival
piled up around my feet.

I might have glowed somewhere within,
I might have remembered you,
but with all my might I surely did
chase the clouds away!

Reminds me of the attitude in 'Rocky', especially when he runs up the steps, turns around and faces the world.  Well written, my friend.

Nicely done, but then your poetry is always that. You meandered into the past, but the past wasn't kind and you had the strength to shoo the clouds away.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments - and Jerry, you're so right about the past thing but those damn clouds have to be chased away over and over again!  I think I'll just ignore them from now on.

How very captivating, dear Helen, in content and poetic imagery.

... maybe it is a question of changing your interpretation of the clouds! After all you know their presence as temporary.

Love and joy.

Thanks, dear Margherita.  Yes, the world stays the same so it's always the change of interpretation (and perception) that makes the difference.  Change and change again until we get it right!
