I can still see you,
standing there in that
wornout apron cooking
away...
You wore that sameee
apron every single day
it seemed. Ha
And make no mistake, it
definetly had seen its
share of better days.

And that kitchen...
oh how i remember that
kitchen, so many fond
memories, were made there.
I can still see you
standing over a stove
for hours preparing a
made from scratch meal
for us.

I guess growing up on
a farm in Nova Scotia,
Canada prepared you
for anything nana.

Oh!

And to keep me so patient,
you'd bring out that huge
coffee can of mismatched
buttons that never found a
home.. ha
Anything to keep me occupied
while waiting for nanas
special meal for me.

Oh, and there were hundreds of
buttons, all sizes, shapes
and colors.
But my favorites were
(at least i thought they
were) those diamond ones!!
Oh i thought i had the
richest grandma in the world.
I would pick them up and
place them on my ear, and
pretend I was a glamourous
movie star!

God, how i miss those times...
But mostly you sweet nana.

I think of you everyday you
know.

I even tried to duplicate
some of your recipes
but failed miserably!
Shhhh, thats our secret
nana. ha

But heck, thats not
as important as remembering
you, and all the memories
we shared.
And how that little girl
had the privilage to
have those cozy
grandmas we all wish
for.
Thats something that no one
can ever take away.
I want to thank you my
dear sweet nana, for all
your love, your time,
but mostly for being
you...

"My Dear Sweet Nana"
Always...

Precious tribute to a precious relationship!  Well done.  Made me miss my Grandma...she has been gone for over 40 years...thanks for the memories.

I fully agree with Lori...my wife is called Nana and it's not hard to see the love especially the kids have for her. My own grandmother (grannymaw), long since gone fit this wonderful mold you formed, very well.  Cool write, my friend.
