Listening to every heart

Memories

Cool mists lying low
Gray mornings lay loving down
Going home again
In my salt-silt sandy mind
Foggy dreams missing sea sounds

I am so keeping this one.  I am!  I love it and understand it.  Thank you for writing this poem and sharing it with us, Karilea.

It's a keeper.

It's that sea sound that makes this one chime for me. Truth is, if you were to read each line, one at a time, without going on to the next one, they all five stand alone. That is some damn fine writing as far as I'm concerned.

This is really pretty!

As a child I lived by the seaside and there are times when I yearn to go back. At least I can readily do that with my "Memories"! ~ Thank you, for yours!

There is nothing that compares to the feeling that the sea induces in those that have lived by or just adore a beach.
I can smell the sea, matter of fact, all my senses are quite sparked right now
