EVENING IN SOUTH INDIA

At dusk the sky’s arms
Reach down to the flat-faced meadow
To cover it with the mask love creates.
The outline of an eagle on a far-off rock,
Drawn in exactness, as the sun drops
It’s eyelid over red, the earth’s edge visible
In one brief breath, at once persistence
Of memory and grace of the unexpected.

Stop at a roadside teashop
Milling with day’s end. A father
Holding his child, an armful of smiles,
A place at the center of something sacred
And alive.

Elsewhere world is vulnerable, shaking.
Here amidst the darkbright solitude of strangers,
The comfort of silent surrender.

Your words allow the reader to picture this scene very well. Very good.

You have perceived and expressed  that spot of beauty where serenity floods our heart and eyes in some special moments.

Very beautiful.

I like this. We tend to think the world is going to hell (it is), but there are places within the world and the heart that makes this setting you describe a wonderful and peaceful place.

Oh, oh, oh!  I have never been to India . . . until now.  I am still basking in the glow of the moments you painted with such beauty, peace and grace.  This is very, very beautiful.

I'm finding it difficult to leave the South of India at dusk . . .

Oh boy, you really took me there, could visualize it all, the sights the scents as the evening sky falls like a velvet curtain.

This is exquisite in it's entirety.  Beautifully done, truly~
