Kicking Down Doors

The sun was shining
and everything seemed so nice,
birds were singing,
children were laughing
in what seemed to be a world
of sugar and spice.
Then an offshore earthquake
sent a deadly tsunami to shore,
people were swimming and
people were drowning
and masses of property were destroyed,
and now the threat of a nuclear disaster
is knocking viciously upon the peoples
damaged doors.

I join you with hopes and prayer, James.  I have been missing your poetry - you came back with a powerful poem.

Thank you, dear James, for this compassionate poem that touches the heart, while remembering and shivering. Joining in prayer for all those affected so cruelly by this disaster.

Love,
Margherita

That island is going through the rigors of pure hell right now.
