I am a smoldering contradiction
viciously fastened in the flesh side

spirit sagging within the pinch and burn of nerves
they say

it’s just a breaking down of understanding
my body

thinks, gnaws, and feels
the ragged wrongness of mortality

circling into aching taut
knowing

my body is wrong
and I

I simmer under frail sinew.

What a revoltin' way to be, kindredspirit, may you eventually work it out. Love your description of your "ailments."

I think we all have done that slow simmer and perhaps even got to the boiling point a time or two.

What a fascinating poem, very much enjoyed.
