Fair to middlin' of nowhere

The highway beckons
The warm wind
whispers of away…
Anywhere
any direction
the Harley heads
feeds the need in me
My senses fill
in the scented wind
of open skies
and endless horizons
Accelerating exhilarations
into sunrises and sets
and cloudless afternoons

Stop by when you are passing through, we'll boil some crawfish.

A smile with this comment: A good open road short poem, and truly could be the foundation of an excellent rambling poem if desired, imho.

Tickles our yearning for blissful adventures on the road.

Very nice, dear Lori.

That's exactly how I feel when I get on my bicycle and head down the street!!!

Of course my engine gasp's and cough's and runs out of gas miles and miles before yours does, but all that other stuff is still there!

Loved this...

your ability to write like this makes it almost impossible to put away the temptation of the motorcycle.  I'm afraid that I will just have to experience it vicariously...please, keep writing...please

I so understand the hypnotic, beckoning highway those scented wind whispers and shouts, and those accelerating exhilerations, both on the back of a motor bike (not a Harley, though) and in my MGA 1600 many years ago.  You have actually given me the courage to post a very old poem about driving in my MG!  I don’t think I have ever posted it anywhere, for various reasons.  Your poem is a delight!  Smiles!
