In a moment of temptation
I thought to let my hair run wild
but there was no gust of wind
in a spring moment
meant to bring better things.

In the heart of the evening
at my table by the window
I thought of roses and you
but the garden
in my field dreaming
no precious love
in my spawn of loneliness.

Life streams show no mercy
to a new visitor
and the shady brook road
leads not to ecstasy
or forever love
like nature's song
with the moon in mind
heralds in the bridal march.

I looked in that darn mirror
and thought this thing we do
should be seen through Julia's eyes
in spring moonlight
while the air is still
because something about me
in a timeless red scarf
and the emerald green petticoat
speaks of impermanence.

Eternal thoughts and musings
the nature of  my beast
untitled as of yet
didn't dust off the Harley
painted blue and broken now
in the wake of a tsunami
but was chatting to my best friend
about cardboard and whispers
and I thought, " Oh, Africa mercy!
what poetic revelation
comes from cardboard?

I never did spring cleaning
over that way
in my dog team dreams
because the pleat of my completeness
reflecting fog of destiny
not magical snow canvas.

"Oh, Monarch butterflies!
Butterfly come dance with me
into my morning in velvet silence"
I intoned
on sun-warmed sands,
art and the introvert entwined.

Calliope weeps
because carnal sins
no awakening of spring
in my soul search.

Quiver the wind
on this midnight journey
called "thoughts of you and I"
but there is a difference
in books about you
where the man (you) would be
mortified
and not coloured in stained glass.

I cannot wait for you
so don't ask, "Please, lady, stand up and sing
when ivory buttons and carnal roses
bloom(s) yellow
like salted tears
as the world turns.

Sleep - what's that
to falling lovers
in Sunday's story
of past love
untitled?

Back to monogamy
a tightrope
no garland of sunbeams
on a Poe day
when the first deadly sin - pride
says, "I am man"
and just wondering
why the banquet table
missing rungs
looms like a carnivorous bat
when I'm here.

You can call me Honey,
Just June and a few other things,
on your daguerreotypes
but my location, location, location,
a secret on my 144th birthday.

Oh, the Pain!

"Just a stress reliever," eh? Cleaver girl you were here. I did something similar a lifetime ago and someone said I was lazy to do it that way. You are not lazy, this is excellent, and thank you for including some of my titles. Sweet.

Thank you, Jerry.  I've done quite a few of them in my time and it always amazes me how it comes together.

Too cool Helen! I love the way you pulled this all together. Your last line made me feel guilty because I enjoyed reading about your pain so much...Keep writing it out of your system.

Thanks, Lori.  There's only one thing that will ever stop me from writing but such a long shot that I guess I'll ... die at the keyboard.

This is exhilarating, dear Helen! It is indeed amazing how things fall together and become a harmonious caleidoscopic story.

Greatly enjoyed!

Love and smiles and appreciation of your talent.

Helen, I have read similar ones of yours before and always thought they were great, but this time you really outdid even yourself - I am sure this is the most you have put together in one shot!  Wow!  It was brilliant!

Thanks, Diana.  No, not the most.  I did the whole of Open Poetry No. 33 in 8 parts - I must have been really stressed then.     So glad you enjoyed.

I've just checked - quite a bit more than 8 parts. After that this one was a piece of cake.
