A Sigh from The Crease

The window
warped and unwilling
drafts a piece of evening into the warm
and brings the fragrance of cloud

I sit with this small disturbance of air
thinking of its travel
through the pass that lets in magic

Its sound has long fallen
around the pine
past the cave where the brown bear sleeps
and the alder leaves have quieted
after the dance that took some twirling

There is just a touch of sweet coming
from a place unknown to this geography
and that is when listening passes
the reflection of my face in the glass
trying to search a dark that pushes me
Back into the room

And for just a minute I hear the breath
Of time coming from the crease
that has folded me into this life
for it opened again
just long enough
for me to hear you sigh

If you hadn't caught this fragile moment so quietly and gently in soft fingers and shown it to yourself and us, we would all be so much poorer.  I am in awe.  Thank you for this delicate cameo, Martie.

Of course this poem has your wonderful personal touch to it, with the phrases, and words, no one else would think of including, but they are wonderful words and phrases, it just takes you to bring them out. And yes. That very last line is the whole poem.

~ My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle. ~

Those things being a part of your very heart and soul are memories that keep you strong. Looking for the next wave of love that still exists in all it's completeness even on the breath of a whisper that kisses your vision with love.

Oh, Martie, you truly do have the heart, soul, eyes ~ and pen of a poet.
Such a tender, wistful rendering, dear poetess.

Love and a warm hug,

The sheer beauty of the feelings you convey so masterfully, dear Martie, makes me stop and breathe with deeper consciousness.

Simply exquisite.
