A bird outside my window sings
at two a.m., absurd.
I asked him why he'd do this thing:
"I can't sleep either, silly girl!"

Oh Life, you're lonely strange sometimes...

Just turned on the news. Perhaps that little bird was relaying messages?

Birds can be freaky.

Karen...A bird on the window sill is better than two in the bush. So they say...
Enjoyed Paul

Maybe a cukoo bird escaped from a clock?

My cat would have pounced on it, and then hit his head on a branch, and then he'd be the one chirping all night, making me wish, I had a pet fish instead.

Maybe I'll compromise and get a, catfish with some, quiet dogs too... yanno, hush puppies.

Sorry the bird kept you up Serenity, I might have a few slurps of snake bite remedy left if you need it... urp... let mre wefrase that... I did, have a cupple snorts..left...

I love the poem, Karen.  It made me smile.  Silly me, though, I can't help but love all birds, despite Poe and the like.  Smiles.

I love birdsong too. Usually.

I didn't know but it woke my daughter too, and she had texted to a friend that it was creeping her out. Normally a bird can carry a tune, but this was like ...code!!!

Birdcode.

Um--just for the record, I don't think it was the bird that shook up the world this morning. It was just odd.

Thanks for reading. I hope he's not my new alarm clock, either--getting up with the birds should be for the birds, and I've still got grapefruit left. *teasing Owl*

Thanks so much for reading.

My love to you all.

Giggles at the birdcode, Karen!

Ooooh, I'd love him for my alarm clock.  Please send him this way if he can fly long distances over the Atlantic Ocean(but please explain to him how vast it is - I'd hate him to drown or even panic about drowning or become exhausted).

I love getting up with the birds, but if I work late on Lilian, my laptop, the night before, I don't and I struggle to wake up with the 5th alarm (each of the 5, have 5 minute snooze alarms) on my cell phone - and I also put my alarm clock on, but sleep through that as well.

More giggles at getting up with the birds should be for the birds - but I was a bit lost on the grapefruit??

Always a pleasure to read your poetry and your thoughts.

You must be 'birds of a feather'! lol
That was a very 'tweet' little poem, Serene One.

This put a smile on my face, Karen...

Not too long ago, I had a mockingbird
singing me to sleep every night.
Eventually, the night time serenades stopped.
He must have finally found himself a girlfriend,
as only the male 'bachelors' sing at night.

I enjoyed it while it lasted, though...

Thanks for reminding me of my bird friend...

Love ya, K... and miss ya too...

Virgil, oh Virgil, where have you been? I love you, yanno.

And thank you all so much, for being so kind to my little bird brained whimsy.

It's much appreciated. My love to you all.

Well hello gorgeous!

I finally got some sleep but I had to take the phone off the hook. The bird seems to be singing in his own tree now, but telemarketers have been bombarding my phone line.

So...I take the time to try to reason with the telemarketers. I'm on a personal campaign to get telemarketers to quit their jobs.

I do keep me amused...*laughing*

It's good to see you. Love you. *hugs*
