V1. Can I be a fairy princess
or can I be a queen?
Will I be able to walk on water
or fly on a breeze?
All the thing you said I could do
But now all you say is they weren't true.

Chorus. I'm stuck in reverse
I can't seem to move away
the cement dried while I was
standin' still.
They say hope floats
but hope just sinks for me
I just have to stay one little step
ahead of the world.

V2. What happened to the words you
used to say when I was little?
That I could do anything
that nothing was impossible
everything seems harder now
since you said, "You can't"

V3. Do you still love me like you used to?
Do you really think I'll fail?
Why did growing up change the way you feel?
When it's raining i ask myself this time and time again.
And I still don't understand why you insist on clipping my wings.
