Somebody please,
help me
with this
dilemma okay.

What is the name of
love
for someone,
you have never
met?

Someone,
who has the
ability
to squeeze your
whole being
like an ant
with songs
written in letters
played on a keyboard
sitting in their lingerie
in the quiet
of their own home.

What do you call it
when they pour
into your bed
at night
right through
the covers
making the sheets
of flannel
turn
into silk
and the pillows
into
paramours
as they make
love
to their own
dreams
of your own
words.

What is it called,
when all you can think of
is their lips
pressed against your’s
and their breath
on your skin
as you lay
on warm beaches
and the ocean
seems like a
still pond
in a deaf
world.

If there’s a name
for it
please tell me
what it is.

Is it,
love?

Is it
infatuation?

Is it,
foolishness?

Funny place
this,
virtual
valley
we walk through
with its
boundries
on both sides
and a river
that runs straight
down
the middle
separating by mere
inches
the branch
of one tree
from
another.

I’m kind of
having trouble
with this.

Are you
too?

Virtual,
as in, everything
is implicit
instead of
explicit.

Let me die
yesterday,
if all my love
for you
has to be
implied
to you
instead of
inside
of you.

I don’t want to live
essentially,
I want to
love
actually
damn it.

I don’t want to be some
quasi motively
inspired racket maker.

If I want to
ring your bell
I want to
ring, your, bell,
until it cracks
and the whole
damn cathedral
comes tumbling
asunder!

I dont want to be
close to real
or, partly there
I don’t want a closet
of three piece, pseudos,
I want tailor fit shirts
that you can tear the
buttons off
with your teeth
and wear it after
marking it
with your scent
so that every other
woman
knows who
I belong to.

I don’t want to,
go out,
and have,
mock
turtle soup,
if you want turtle soup
honey
believe me
your going to get
A big, long,
piece of turtle
if we have to put
the darn thing
on its back
and tickle his
underbelly
until he sticks his
head out.

I don’t want to
fundamentally speak
to you,
I want you
to have
fun
speaking to my
mentally
challenged wit
and even,
lack therof.

What is it
with this
supposedely, seemingly
synthetic
realm,
is nothing sacred,
are none of these
feelings
real?

Theys say that by
2045
machines,
aka computers
will have surpassed
the human brain
in logic
and perhaps,
will be able to
express,feelings
and, whew,
emotions as well,
and that we
as a species
will begin
to see the end
of our, human
existance
as we once,
knew it.

Something to
look forward to
isn’t it
as my own computer
processes these words
and sends them
through the air
to all of you
reading,
and feeling
this
right now.

Sound kind of
far fetched?

Well we were too
dumb
to save the animals
or the planet,
and so we’re
probably going to be
too smart
now
to even save
ourselves.

Maybe thats why
I’m always in such
a hurry
to try
and I mean,
try
to figure things
out,
because
the glass is cracked
and the sand
is leaking out
faster
then we had
hoped for.

Get back to me
on that dilemma
I still have okay.

You know,
the one about
feelings
and whether or
not
they are real.

All I do know
is that
if there is
such a thing
as
virtual love,
then thats what
I am.

I am
virtually
in love,
with you.

It's a scary place, it is...
When you don't actually know
who might be reading, typing,
or listening in....

but everyone will understand
your take on it.

I didn't know all the animals and the planet was dead. I need to watch more news. What's it called? Acid flashback, maybe?

Jerry, as far as this part of the poem is concerned:

"Well we were too
dumb
to save the animals
or the planet"

Some scientists feel that if the current rate of the human destruction of the biosphere continues then half of all the life species on earth will be destroyed in the next 100 years. And as far as the planet is concerned, I really don't have the desire to even explain my views on that.

These of course are just the views of some scientists that I share, and if their not yours then that is totally fine.

If you do have any more comments on this particular aspect I would ask that you do this via email so that this poetry thread doesn't turn into a science discussion.

Lastly, I hardly know you well enough to know if you were just being silly in your comment suggesting that I might be having an, lsd flashback, but if you were being serious, and that is the only kind of thing that you could find to say about my post, then maybe you'll reconsider next time whether or not to even bother saying anything at all. Just like you, I have the,  critique section of my profile checked, no, and I didn't find your comments to be positive in spirit or even neutral for that matter. Not trying to make a big deal here, I just like people that don't know me very well, to know where I stand, thats all. Hopefully it was just a minor misunderstanding. No worries.

Richard
