The French liaison
With her skirt on his hands
His grip of her dime like hands

She watched the workman
Pour oil onto the streets curbsides

The harps
Serenading the streets

With Amore in the air
The sleeve of her dress
Lightly rubbing against
His sweater

Together they walked on an island
Near the Rivera
With such bliss
With the strangers around them
Becoming one with the ground

He kissed her for the first time that night
For he didnÕt want to lose
Her heart the way he lost his father

So he took all his might
With the kiss,
The kiss that said I hold you and the night together
The kiss of every memoir left
By those that came before them

Amore
