This is a love song for my beloved home, my birthstate...
----

Among The Columbines

For just a moment there,
I felt like I was back home
for just a breath there,
I felt no longer alone
there is nothing like a mile high breeze
to greet me
oh such wonder and beauty
I know there's something that's mine
nestled there, among the columbines

And it's a stubborn man who knows
which ever way the wind blows
there's only one way back to home sweet home
oh, Colorado

So lay down your head
and I'll lay down mine
and I'll watch your flowing hair
spill over me and twine
among the columbines

For a moment in time
I saw the mountains rise
for a second it was fine
under familiar skies
there is nowhere else that I want to be
you can see
this is where I was born to be
I feel my heart has become entwined
here at home, among the columbines

And it's a foolish man who goes
away from all that he knows
there's only one place that I can call home
oh, Colorado

So lay down your head
and I'll lay down mine
and I'll watch your shining hair
fall over me and twine
among the columbines

And it's all about the finer things
these simple songs that I sing
there, inside only my lonely heart in yearning
ooh, I've been dreaming

And I'm going home
back down to where I've been
and I'm going home
where the wind never blows so lonesome again
and I will roam
the worn highways I have known
to Colorado, where I was born to walk the line
every time
in green meadows, among the columbines
through open windows, amidst the pines
and oh a stubborn man knows
there's something there so good, so fine
nestled there, among the columbines

Oh, let's go home

Very nice song.
Got a nice flow to it.
I got a lot of Don Henley's "End Of The Innocence" out of the words.

Good yearning writing.
