Showing Up

You know that love is not
just thinking nice thoughts
or missing someone while you
toss around the words
"thinking about you" and
"missing you" and "I Love you".
Love is actually more than that.
Love is a progression from
being comfortable together
to discovering that you are compatable,
acknowledging that you have found a special one,
accepting the possibilites of pursuing
a relationship with common goals.
building upon the virtues of acceptance,
appreciation and desire,
caring and compassion while
gaining tolerance and foregiveness
Love is much more than a word.
Love is action packed.
Love is showing up.

Well, I have to agree James, showing up is the first step needed and I get your meaning both ways.
However, the body of this poem is really sound, wise, work and it was a treat to read it.

Write on!
