Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Sometimes it comes so slow
it slips by unnoticed
until that faraway day
when we realize the difference
as if it happened overnight

Sometimes it comes so fast
it flies by too quickly
for us to take it all in
as our world it turned upside down
In the blink of an eye nothing’s the same

Some changes
are inevitable
others unavoidable
some bring us happiness
some bring us grief
Change will never change

My dear friend...

Not only do I hear this in your voice [as
I know this coming Monday it will ring
in my ears, so lucky am I as to have you
for a writing participant] but I also know
first hand the struggle that you're currently
under with the situations at hand.

You're in my prayers.

Changes being what they are, you are about
to enter a whole new phase of life.

And you're just the person to handle it with
grace, style, but mostly...love.

Thanks you two wonderful people!  My Mom broke her hip this last weekend and as a result they will be moving from their home of 43 years. My mom has early onset of alzheimers and some dementia so absorbing all this change is difficult.  Today it just hit me I'm losing "my" home that I lived in since 2nd grade until I married the first time at 19.  Things are going very well....we knew this day was coming.  Suprise! It is here.

Sorry to hear about your Mom Lori.
It's always sad when an era of life ends.I don't mean passing or anything like that. But good things make the root of a person's being whole.
Those family memories are so deep that they're unexplainable. But they're the basis for life that continues on, never stopping and thank God we have them.
Take Care and I truly wish you the very best as you confront all your challenges.
You're really quite capable.

Good one, Lori!  I am quite frankly getting tired of change now but Change is never satisfied, is it?  Hope the change you are facing now goes smoothly.

Eric and Helen- My mom is doing well, the hardest part I know right now for her is being separated from my Dad at night...and depending how long rehab takes...It makes me weep for her.
Thanks for reading my poem and your kind words.

Last line is the kicker. Huh? That's why it is the last line.
