NINTH POEM TONIGHT
18 February 2011

No Internet connection
again tonight.
Urghhhh!

So, Telkom, ‘cos I can’t send Linda’s messages,
nor read Pipster-poetry,
nor email friends and relations,
I swallowed my frustration
(Telkom, you can swallow the Urghhh
and whilst I am not actually wishing
that you choke on it,
rest assured that
if you do,
I won’t be doing
CPR
on you
tonight!)
and I wrote nine poems,
but not out of weakness,
so, Telkom, don’t think you won,
for the truth is
that in return,
I am paying you the greatest insult
that I possibly could,
and that is that I have scraped away
the last vestige
of respect
that I ever had
for you.

Frustrating isn't it.
However, you're such a clever gal and wrote nine poems.
Whew, I have never written that many poems in one night, probably one week.
Hard to keep up with you whiz-kid girls.

Glad you're back with us.
Glad I'm not the IT guy that comes to fix that problem....smile..

Write on!

Ah yes, I've been there, but with a different ISP. Very frustrating, but glad you were able to put the time to such a productive use!

Thanks for the reply, Eric.  Struggled about 10-15 times to get in to answer this, but at least I can get  in.  Smiles about the IT guy!  However, the problem isn't here. It is at the exchange.

Yep, Nareena, thanks.  I didn't want Telkom to win!

I remember those days when I couldn't
connect to the outside world
and I thought my inner world
destroyed!

Yet, I wrote! And like you...

Revenge was sweet!!

Ah, I used to have that trouble with Comcast, but since I've switched to AT&T I've not had any. Now that I bragged on AT&T it'll probably go out tomorrow. Drat!

Yes, Kate.  It doesn’t happen often, though.  Once before I wrote 7 in one night then lost them – I can’t remember how – I think I had them in my collection and somehow I had a hitch in the computer and the save didn’t work – or I recovered the wrong computer file – the one without them – or something like that.  I only discovered it about the next day, but managed to recall 5 of them and wrote a poem about the 2 lost ones.  Here it is:

LOST PETALS
12 January 2006

Wind-whirled
pieces of me
word-splashed petals
mind-gathered
into rain-healing
and cosseted
except for two
that are gone
with
their monikers,
promises
and colour songs.

Thanks, Yann.  Yes, I too, miss Pip so much when I can’t get online.

Diana, it is always good to come back into a poem you know you responded to...especially if you find another poem within the responses!
