One day your going to pull the plug
On all indifference
Mingled.muted.apathy

In a warm and dry basement
There is no room for apologies
No room for insincere devotion

Keep the water out
Or we will keep spinning
Let us clash in our mutual decay

Looking forward to the last reinvention
The long and hard depth of learning
Cold despite all of our relentless yearning

We fed these hungry liars
So now we own them
The eyes lie still
Yet crawl back for more

We are running out of new ways
To disappoint our old fruitful core

This is intriguing.

And it seems to me that there is hope weaved in.

Love,

Seems like a worn out love. But is it really?

Superb metaphors!
I really enjoyed this.

Naw. I see civilization within the structure of this poem. One which is crumbling around us in almost every way possible.

~ Never did I feel more devoted to my wife than after biting the wild garlic of treachery ~
