Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2011-02-23 09:43 AM

Once again it is here,
that one day out of the year,
candles are lit,
and here I sit,

Reading well wishes and cheer,
for today is a very special day,
one that brings life,

February 23rd you say,
gifts and wrappings,
words from the heart,

Cards sent and given,
in all their colorful maskings,
to give the day a start,

As I sit and reflect,
times still passes on,
but today is a special day,

I will enjoy it before it is gone.

Love and all my very best wishes.

Happy Birthday, ARH!  It's so nice when the "oldies" return to Pip especially on their birthdays.  Yes, please do visit more often.

...a very lovely way to say, "carpe diem" and, btw, Happy Birthday (just glad to meet someone who's still having birthdays) gave it up myself...

Happy Birthday!  I enjoyed your poem a lot.

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

I liked the way you used words to bounce around like bumper cars at a carnival, never quite giving up the real reason for the 23rd day of February, but there are guesses. I prefer to think it is the first day of the rest of your life. Okay. So that is corny. I stand by it.
