              the space between our hearts

On this deep and Wintry night of bitter constellations
and windswept snowflakes, moonbeams, and shadows
when even time seems somehow subtly frozen
along its misty past and future shores of
boundless regret and infinite uncertainty
that frame the dark-Akashan plain of ‘now,’
one can but gaze benumbed in ever-saddened wonder
across the chasmal space between our hearts
in remembering all finest dreams of youth, and Spring,
  and love … forever lost.

Bruce,

I just 'feel' what you write and I 'see' the images that you share.  It doesn't get much better than that.

This is beautiful, Bruce.  Love is never lost. What was, cannot be negated - it just needs to be remembered, appreciated and celebrated!  Reach into the ether and I am sure you will find her there.

Beautiful metaphor, this wintery nature and nostalgia for past passions. Really well done.

Deep sadness here, Bruce but such beautiful sadness that it becomes a joy.

It's a deep and wide space you took me to, and you wrote it with a keen and sensitive heart.

Reminds me of the song~~   "Reelin' in the years"

Very much enjoyed, dreampoet~
