TREES IN THE MIST
18 February 2011

The thick silver-soft mantle
whispered the silence alive
and she wanted to embrace it
and dance wildly in it,
pulling it around her,
barefoot,
swirling grey curves
in answer to her pirouettes
and grand jeté leaps deep into the mist,
her rapture interpreting her water-colour heart-speak
with the trees, leafless,
peeking at her joy-dance,
unveiling their own pastel forms,
shyly, in the distance,
for her alone, who sees
trees too secret for a painting
or a poem.

..this one, Diana, is truly grand.i only
had to read it once to get its flavor
..when, momentarily, i read it once more, it will overwhelm me..>>spiros

Diana,

This is beautiful.  You wrapped in serenity as I watched in a silent mist.  I don't know what to say except I love this poem.

Love you too.

Thank you, Spiros, for your exquisite reply, and for drinking in the ambiance of my poem, as you did.

Thank you, Alison.  You, too, got the heart of it.  Love you too.

I love your word usage here, especially your use of hyphenated ones (perhaps we could form a hyphenated word club and be charter members :
) ...ya think?}  anyway, very inspiring and uplifting write.

This is totally after my heart, dear Diana. Melting with nature through dancing, ahhhh ... in this wondrous atmosphere. Perfect.

I am always fascinated by trees, never perceived them as shy though ... glad you honored them with your poem, because I believe they WANT to share their secrets.

Love and hugs.

Still, we paint the trees and . . . er . . . write about them in poems. I don't think they mind.

Thank you, James.  I am glad you did.

Thank you, Steaven for your kind words.  Giggles about the club!  That would be fun.

Thank you, Margherita for your (as always) delightful response.  Hugs to you too.

Thank you, Jerry.  Perhaps they don't.

Thank you, Belle for your beautiful response.

Thank you, Karilea.  I heard that sigh of pleasure.  I am glad you enjoyed it so much.
