Somewhere long ago in time
you often wrote to me in rhyme,
I cherished each and every verse,
held them in my heart at first,
But you did not return this time
so now I blend your thoughts with mine
and write them down for all to see...
A glimpse of immortality.

Hello Ida....lovely thought of union in poetry.  In a sense, words written down can live and be appreciated longer than flesh.  I enjoyed this and the thoughts that came with it.

In addition to the sentiment, which is lovely, I admire that you have stashed the slant rhymes in the middle and bracketed them with pure rhymes.

perhaps it would be overuse to use the word, 'beautiful' but it is...and the last line, well...it is a special truism...a pleasant read

Ah, Ida,

I'm catching up on my reading...

and you speak well for the immortality
of those loves we keep with us,
forever.

Hi Ida - I read this the other day but didn't have time to reply.  It is sad and beautiful as well and certainly needs a bump up.

It is uniquely precious, dear Ida!

And it moves me deeply.

It also shows your wisdom, you transform the sadness into a reason for beautiful creativity.

Outstanding.

Love and hugs.
