The sky woke up
moist
with bloodshot eyes.

The wind was
rosy
as the flowers
glistened,
in their morning
baptism.

An ant drank from a
lake,
a tear of much
a dew.

The air was heady
with achiness
and swollen
anticipation,
the pink bows
danced in the hair
of the young girl
skipping
down the road,
as two birds
in a tree
woke up
a church bell
that swang in the
sunlight
and tolled,
on the sinners.

The boy
leaned over the bank
of the stream
and pushed
his hand
through
the mirror
of the river,
he saw his
frown
wiggle into
a smile,
and pulled up
a pebble
that looked,
like her eyes.

This day
is a bustle.

The dust of
yesterday
still lingering
in the breath
of morning,
the cobwebs
growing thicker
as the hair
on the mountain
top,
continues
to thin.

All by themselves
the lovers
get dressed,
equally lonely
they button their
eyes
to hold back
the oceans
that claw to
get out,
a purging
of memoir,
drowning
their glow.

These forks
in the road,
this valley
of tines,
our winter
of chocolate
and summer of
wine,
living is
sometimes
a hard price
to pay,
a calendar lonely,
no X
on this day.

Richy....Your imagery pulls emotion from this reader.  I'm especially fond of:

The boy
leaned over the bank
of the stream
and pushed
his hand
through
the mirror
of the river,
he saw his
frown
wiggle into
a smile,
and pulled up
a pebble
that looked,
like her eyes.

Me three!  I also loved this so much:

An ant drank from a
lake,
a tear of much
a dew.

I see your name and know I will never be disappointed in taking the time to read and save it. Beautiful imagery.

Your last verse aches, in a beautiful way.  So pretty what you do with poetry, Richy~
Even the bittersweetness that you weave into your words is laced so fine.

Warm hugs, and a soft sigh~

All I can do is echo what others have said.  This write is so good all I can think to say is "dang, man"  There is so much to garner from this with so much to see as you read it...truly excellent

Thanks Nareena for the great replies tonight!
