Why can't I hear
without my glasses on?
Am I so deaf and blind
(of course without my glasses
my glasses I can not find)
that I'm already reading lips
and faces to tell my ears
what to hear?
Facing me
blurry blobs mumble
sounding like talking walking away
However
it is also true
that at the other end of my spectrum
they bring their fine print to me.
For within the close perimeter
of my uncorrected vision
I can peer into your eyes
and
hear your heartbeat.

Whoa! Talk about misdirection, Lori. Love the confessional, especially the eyes to heartbeat ratio.
