PLEASURE
8 February 2011

Yesterday I had 2 flat tyres.
Today, while they were being replaced,
I had time to think
and, oh boy, did my thought birds soar! –
and what an enraptured delight that was!

Sounds like you used that time very well and wrote it down well too.

enjoyed...must be going around (the 2 flat tire thing, i.e.) I'm afraid my wait time was not nearly as productive as yours...got into a discussion with the young man from Chicago running the shop...got to tell him how I saw Michael Jordan (his hero) play in person in the playoffs.  All of a sudden, I was keeping him spellbound (and that felt good) ...now, I'm reading your write like he listened to me...and a good time was had by all

Ah, yes, taking advantage of a bit of free time and instead of complaining about the flat tires, you gave into your birds of thought and was the better for it. Nice, Owl.

Thanks, Ida.  I am glad you think so.

Thanks, Steaven.  Actually your time was a lot more productive than mine.  You were giving to somebody else.  I was giving to myself.

Thanks, Jerry.  Yes, I really did make hay while the sun shone.  About the only time that I am really free to think is when I am driving – and the strangest thing is that that is when I solve most of the challenges I have in developing databases – in front of the computer there are too many variables – but away from it, clarity and logic is so much more accessible.

Thanks, Belle – and so did I – with gusto!
