The Dampness Between

Walk into the sea this night

my love,

as I have,

beyond the mind’s horizon,

and we will share the surf and the foam

within,

of what was and what shall

ever be.

Unlike every other night

when we face

black mirrors under our pillow

in the loneness

of the forsaken,

and hopeful.

This, dampness

between us,

dripping from lips,

these swells and waves brimming,

a flush

of wish

and simple meanings,

an ocean streaming

of brine and beauty,

of tears and sorrow,

salty sweet

of passionate sweat as it

trickles yet, down the bosom of

weakness

as the knees of divide buckle

with the undertow

of rapture

and ravishment.

You are the breath of abyss

my poet of tear

and fears

bewildered,

pregnant with innocence

and words beloved,

thrusted

into you

in stolen slices of thirst

and moan

as my shimmering moon

snakes back

across the water,

from you

Lay there love,

on the beach

with the ebbing and flowing

tide as your lover

for me.

The sound of the stars

melting in your eyes

will carry you

to the land of

nod

where answers and

truths

awash in rain

wait

for those brave enough

to savor,

and swallow

and smile.

Oh this is so warm and wonderful, it literally pulled me in, like an undertow.
Your writing is exquisite, there is music and movement that flows over every wave.
It makes me want to keep rhythm and let it take me out to sea.

Your poetry is special, and it's always a nice surprise to read you here, Richy.

Many hugs~

Oh Bluesy, wow, a note from you, and a superbowl too all in one day, gee that is almost more then this guy can handle! I'll tell you though, I would choose that reply over all the superbowls that ever were, and ever will.

Thank you Lori, for your kindness and for the smile now singing across my face.

You're the best!

Long time no read, Richard, but you came back with a stunner - well, I actually think all your writes are stunning!  You take the reader to places that don't seem to exist in this world of ours and they could so easily if we were more ... evolved!  Thank you!

Richy....This poem is so lush and seductive it made me miss the breathing of the ocean, the prickling salt on my skin of its water and the glory of being accepted by the embrace of sand.  Thank you.

Thanks katahdin, I always appreciate hearing from you!

Latearival, that was very sweet of you, I find that hard to be true, but still very sweet.

Thanks you two!

Fantastic! I'm not going to let my hubby read this, he'll get ideas.
