I walked alone 'neath Arizona heat,
Putting one foot in front of the other.
Leaving another city's bad back streets,
I left them all, my father and mother.
Looking for something I'd know if I found,
Just ahead were more warm and loving arms,
For a few days I could wear a king's crown,
Then they grew weary of my mainline charm.
I never searched for love, but it found me,
Bit I would leave them with tears in their eyes,
Afraid of what I had found I would flee,
Some I couldn't forget and wondered why.
When you search for what is already you,
You recall those days when you paid your dues

Great sonnet well constructed.

Reminds me of Super Tramp's
Good bye Mary Good bye Jane
Will we ever meet again?

I enjoyed the last bit here very much because it seemed to be layered with some resolve.

Good writing!

Eric
