the gnarled oak is
old but sturdy
still standing proud
inspite of everything
the crisp green ferns
line the roadside
dancing in the breeze
a lone beer bottle
paper bag over it's neck
leans against the brush

all is quiet except for
the wind and the whoosh
of tires on gravel when
an occasional car passes by
the river is glistening and gray
the dock empty
there is a kind of calmness
inspite of natures activity
where much is taking place
undetected by the naked eye

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

There's something about the old oak tree with the wind blowing through it's outstreached limbs. Thanks for sharing this nice piece.
