2x2

Two by two, me and you
200 records of rock, rhythm & blues
cherry red roaster hummin' in the driveway
looks like another golden California day

Two by two, we happy few
chasing Santa Ana Winds down the avenue
open up the ribcage of every polluted day
kiss me hello after I've been lost in the fray

Sparks fly, you and I,
tell me every lie you believe in
and I'll try, by and by
to be the one you'd believe in

One on one, starting gun
shoot me a grin across the rising sun
stylus tattoo my arm with your grace
next to an angel and John Lennon's face

Sparks fly, you and I
tell me every night you believe in
and I'll sigh, glide on by
to be the one you're believing in

All life's promises stacked up like cars at the red
I've got diner napkin songwriting I'll read to you in bed
these moments I am finding me
these moments I am feeling free
and we'll walk the beaches of the moon, two by two
me and you

Two on two, me and you
200 synonyms for your eyes of blue
strawberry redhead girl come what may
you're the shine in every golden California day

Sparks fly, you and I
tell me every lie you believe in
and I'll try, time gone by
to be the one you believe in

Tell me every hand the world has dealt you
again and again
And I'll try to be the one you could believe in

An enjoyable read, worthy of a song. Enjoyed the images and feel. Thanks for sharing. I also liked the napkin bit.
