the light is going fast
and you'll soon see
or maybe say (like
other men have said)
you look best in shadows
it's those high cheekbones
so-called bedroom eyes
the this or that of you

it's supposed to
be a compliment but
you don't see the same things
i see in the darkness
mainly the shadow
of the shadow

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

Oh boy, Faith, this is good. I grew into an expert over the years seeing the "shadow of the shadow." It caused me a lot of grief. I finally found out how to shine the light on those shadows. Good writing.

excellent write with a special perspective..."the shadow of the shadow" conjures up some interesting things...enjoyed

in fact, if it wasn't 30 years later
