A picnicking we did go
Foothills of the Rocky Mountains
Cheyenne, Wyoming
She brought a bottle of wine
Said it was of the highest quality
What'd I know?
Arkansas hillbilly like me
My Rocky Mountain Darlin' wouldn't lie
The wine was wonderful
Blanket spread between two boulders
Gave us some shade from the sun
We drank that bottle of wine in little bits
Enjoying each other between drinks
But it was after the wine was gone
That we soared to the moon
More'n once
Or twice
My Rocky Mountain Darlin'
Whupped an education on me that afternoon
And many more afternoons
Then one day
There was no more us
I had to leave
United States Air Force sent me far away
She had to stay
The years passed us by
Far too many years
Oh my
I have tried
On so many occasions
To find a wine which compares
To the one my Rocky Mountain Darlin'
Brought to those picnics
Oh, those picnics
Blanket spread and all that lovin'
Never tasted that fine bouquet again

that wine and that woman...oh those memories! the ending was sad but very, very good...i enjoyed this one a lot

Ah, I doubt it was the wine that was wonderful, I bet it had more to do with your "Rocky Mountain Darlin'". Enjoyed.
