just about where I want to be

I fake a smile
To let you see
That which it is
You want me to be.

I choke back my tears
And hide my pain
So you can be happy
While nothing I gain.

Except for your smile
Worth all the strife
I keep on living
This unwanted life.

Where I am unhappy
This much is true
But you shall never know…
Because I love you.

This is rather thought  provoking, loving someone enough to look past your unhappiness.
I'm not sure loving someone should make you unhappy, I might be wrong eh...Love is not always beautiful.

I don't think that is necessarily true love, maybe instead of going to all those extremes to love someone who couldn't care less. Just my opinion.

there is something remarkably magical about this...perhaps because it describes love's quirkiness...devotion...and you do it quite well

Seems love never works out on an even plane somehow.
One or the other gets stiffed a bit and that's alwways too bad.

Great writing!

Sometimes, the best love is saved for those who might only gain it by memory...of the one who had it for them.

Thank you, young lady.
