recollections of hot summer days
smell of newly mowed grass
gentle southern wind streaming from the gulf
skinny-dipping in polluted ponds
best times of our lives
sky so intensely blue it hurt your eyes
with small puffs of white clouds
here and there
we stole moments together
hidden from eyes that pry
lips that talk
tongues that wag
we weren't supposed to be together
we knew it couldn't last
but after all this time
when your thoughts turn toward those days
as mine have tonight
then it did last
it most certainly did last

Yep, and good morning, Lori. I guess most people have memories embedded within  them from long ago.

I have been in a different life for long enough to not be able to remember what I know to be the good old days

love reading you

Good morning passing shadows, and thank you for stopping and reading my effort. I'm sorry you have lost the memory of those days. Then again, sometimes the good old days weren't all that good after all. In my case, and how this poem manifested itself, I have pleasant memories from time to time.

remembering the good times can be sweet for sure...sometimes, i really wish romance was still like that before computer and texting, etc...

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

Haha!! Well, passing shadows, memories are something no one can take away from us. They are private and no one should feel in any way guilty about them, married or not. We all have them. They are us.

Romance is still around, Faith, but you have to spread yourself out, go places. I had a seven-year wonderful relationship with a woman I met in a supermarket. I saw her. Bumped into her cart with mine accidentally on purpose and went from there. You have to make things happen, my friend.

It most certainly does last eh? Enjoyed.
"accidentally on purpose" lol that sounds like a sweet beginning. Always a pleasure.

Hi Trina, and thank you. I always look for you. You are one of the Blue Room's good'n's.
