there is a level
of suffering one reaches
and poems salute
the incarnate benediction
the dove, the heart; the bloom

The levels of suffering and of the poems we pen to give credence to them are interchangeable I'm thinking.

Ah, the dove (peace), the heart (love) and the bloom (giving), the trinity of life which is difficult for mortals to maintain. Good work on this poem.

Yes, I agree.
That level is visibly invisible.

Great work Spiros!

the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of reality though not beheld

This is exquisite, Spiros.  I too like how Jerry laid out the metaphors of dove, the heart and the bloom.  However, besides being something for mortals to maintain, I see them also as the “incarnate benediction” - the gifts of God to mortals to comfort them in their suffering.  I see the rapture of your title as referring to the benediction, but also to the rapture of the suffering, as strange as that may sound.  I particularly love the concept of poetry "saluting" (and thus encapsulating) the benediction.  This poem is excellent in every way, particularly how it all circles in around itself and an absolute keeper.

..hi Owl...i'm so pleased you like
this poem..it came out of me
perhaps in a moment..the way you describe
what you see (and Jerry too)is an artform
in itself--an added plus to your delightful
poetic voices..>>spiros

Thank you for your beautiful, heart-warming response, Spiros.  It made my South African skies even bluer today and added more little fluffy clouds (my favourites), and it made the sun even kinder and my smile even happier.  I am looking forward to more tankas from you of this delightful excellence.
