he had natural good taste
enjoying the finer things
in life while he was alive
he was a fine man with dignity
a nobleman of sorts
courageous and good-natured

his passing on at such a young age
tore my heart right from my chest
i recall the doctor saying his was
the worst case of epilepsy
he'd ever seen for nothing
could contol the seizures

he had a short life but
we loved him and saluted him
crying all the while
as we laid him in the cold dark ground

"so long captain winston
may you rest in peace
now that you've gone to where
all good dogs have gone."

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

Ah, you fooled me, you little devil. I really got into the poem and then you hit me with the last line. Now that I've recovered enough to type, I am sorry for your loss, I quite understand when our pets are taken from us.

Sorry for the loss of your dog. One of my cats might have epilepsy. It is a mild case though. I truly enjoyed reading this poem!!!

Faith, I ache for you in your loss of your darling Winston.  Please know that he is happy and healthy again and is in Heaven where my horse, Flicka meets all animals and animally people at the gate and shows them around Heaven and introduces them to everyone and links them up with all the animals and people in Heaven that they know.  Now, my dog, Daisy, and my cat, Tigger, help Flicka.  Winston is now your Guardian Angel.

Julie, I am sorry to hear that.  I suppose that would be Leelee.  At least mild cases are treatable.  Poor little darling, kitten-katten.
