.

Another night
On a second job
Checking out stereos
And other things
I can’t afford
At Wal-Mart

My own kids need
To go to school
Though the degrees
They’ll have then after all
Will keep them with me
Until they’re thirty

Their father’s happy
In a another world
Free of debts and
Hectic schedules
A better life and
Different woman

While no good man now
In his own right mind
Seeing it as a form of suicide
Will touch me with affection

So no Sir—
What you want
You can’t find here
It’s Aisle Thirteen
Where all the old dreams are

Not worth the price
And beyond repair
And useless for distraction

Absolutely right on as seems to be the correct terminology these days. Yesterday's too I remember. Well, at least if you lived in America your kids would be covered with insurance until almost thirty years old. That's something. Oh, heck, I think I'll wander over to Aisle Thirteen, kinda like that number anyway, and see if there is an old dream on sale.

This is an awesome poem. It makes one think. LOL Right now I don't got the money to go to Aisle Thirteen. I still got to pay off the medical bills.
