"What is the answer?" "Where does it end?"
These are the questions, this life which attend...
Divorce and remarriage? Perhaps suicide?
Taken by force in life's outflowing tide.

Children who wonder, "What is this love?"
Cast off so quickly in life's push and shove-
In childhood they learn how to cheat and to hate-
Then learn it's frustration, forever, too late.

Girls who start out with those stars in their eyes
Learn all too quickly, in painful surprise
One gains their affections, with acts sweet and kind
They get what they want and they leave her behind.

The coin's not one sided, there's women out there
Who prey on the guileless, and bring him despair
They teach all those things that he shouldn't know
From conquest to conquest I've watched as they go.

The vilest offenders, I truly believe-
Take up a Bible, proceed to deceive,
Destroy all hope one retains in their breast-
Forever to rob them of peace and of rest.

Sir, look not to people for help in this life-
If you are married, then stay with your wife,
Or ladies go win them with all of your charms-
And they won't seek solace in some woman's arms.

Enjoyed this very much, John.  Although it isn't always as simple as what you say in the last 3 lines, those are still good starting points for both husbands and wives.

I loved all that you covered, especially that both men and women break down their marraiages - and very especially that those who use religion as a mask are the most evil offenders (and in my opinion the most frightening and most frustrating and most upsetting).

One of the many things that I have always admired about your poetry is that your rhyme is subservient to your meaning and not the other way round.

Owl has such a wonderful way of saying things, it is hard to compliment you in a way that holds a candle to that so I will simply say Ditto!
