Always a hidden smile behind the clown face
She sits and ponders why
Was the truth ever really known
Or is her life just one big lie?

She rocks herself in comfort
As she looks at the pictures from yesteryear
She can feel the emotions bubbling
As she wipes away a year

Just a rag-doll
A mere puppet for all to see
She longs for the day when it will be over
For the day when she will be free

Everyone knows the reality of his actions
Still nothing was ever done
As he tormented so many lives
In a little game he deemed as fun

The devil is certainly for real
She sees him in her dreams
As she wakes up from this nightmare
But no one hears her screams

I pray for her to find the strength
To carry on her song
As she pushes through her pain
I hope it won't last too long

Evil, it seems, is the underlying current within the verses of this poem, amk377. There is much evil in the world, much more evil than good I am afraid, especially in these days. We are a society who makes excuses for evil for a number of reasons, and our justice system for the most part is lacking. Our world is being force fed by trial lawyers, and they have never met an evil they couldn't explain away.

Amy,

I love this! You always inspire me to be true...

For the 'monsters' in our past is not what makes us....we make who We ARE.
And no one can take this away...

Love ya girl!

Wow, AMK! A great write! and a beautiful picture. Is it you? I know EXACTLY how you feel. Actually I have been going through this same thing the past few weeks. Yes, I have seen the devil too. Someone, that was just playing games with me also. The key thing is to remember that they ARE a devil and to stay away from them. Do not mourn over someone that is bad to you, hurts you. You should have joy about it.

The only way really to get over them is to find someone new
and as for the mirror,
quit looking in the rear view. :-)
Get back on the horse, sweetie,
and find someone new. :-)
