This one may take a bit of ‘splainin’.  My daughter’s wedding is in less than 2 months and she has turned the TV room (my special room) into a place where all the dresses and shoes have been hung in storage for the blissful event.  We are using the old hooks from some 70’s era swag lamps as hangers (the wedding dress is especially lengthy.)  So, before someone might think I left the open gas flame on a little long, I offer the above as excuse for the disjointed thoughts.

gown of new bride,
bridesmaids and flower girl
dresses abound
ghost-like glitterings
skewered on sky-hooks
gliding through the air
garments suspended
in ethereal renditions
of packing-house hangings

joyous occasion
littering the ceiling
hot air rising
like hopes of all
wearing the occasion
in pursuit of the bliss
found in I do’s
and vows expressed
in blue hanging heels of high satin

awaiting the foretold day
mayan-like in certitude
end of the old world
beginning a new

no longer to be draped
soon to be worn
in pursuit of the bliss

hook-less in hangings
remnants of swag lamps

Two months, eh? I'm sitting here trying to figure out what that "special room" is beginning to look like. I have an idea. Scary. Very scary.  By the time the wedding has come to fruition you will have been driven quite mad. (In a good way, of course)

Wow. Yeah it appears to be all over the place, probably reflects the feeling of the moment. Congrats!

JerryP, yes 2 months and counting and trying not to act Steve Martinish (though my favorite was Spencer Tracy in the part)…I have my HD sound system, blue-ray, and flat screen TV in that room (not to mention that I use Netflix & Huluplus to watch movies there) and it is filling up with wedding stuff…at first it was just her dress…now all I will have to do is turn the heat off and it will truly remind me of a satin meat locker…crazy is such a close destination in wedding times

XG, yeah…I think I had to write this as a cathartic expression of ‘losing a daughter, gaining a son’

Steaven-not to worry, you are not losing a daughter.  "A daughter is a daughter all of her life and a son is a son until he takes a wife" You'll get your man cave back soon enough.
