more malibu than brentwood perhaps
but the villas were the same
just a beach view and parking for two
bentley machines and a mercedes
for the valet to use on weekends

he was an artist she said often
drawing wine from a barrel and sipping
then drawing flies after drunk
and reclining on deck chair afternoons
drawing last breaths way too often

and she was one also most evenings
drawing attention to her assets
recently purchased and often used
bet you can't break them she said
using everything she had dreamed of

as if the warranty would end tomorrow

daark (highway series)

You are the master at these types of poems, DS. Poems with meaning not always apparent until you dig deep. You are good.

Your "Highway Series" is quite interesting. Enjoyed the view from your eyes, as you paint it wonderfully.

You expose the good life the hard way, and write it raw.

Makes it hard to chew on, yanno!!  Wonderful snapshot, nevertheless.

Big hugs, you dude~

Reads like she thought she was going to be shoved aside for something new.

Everything I have is used, could you give her my address so she'll always have a place to go.

Great work once again DS I love how the first verse sets it up then you get down to the nitty grittys. Images just like you love doing them almost out of recognition but slyly bleeding through.

"reclining on deck chair afternoons" ...my favorite part of any day...described so well, but I do have a query re: warrently...I missed the connection on that trolley...little help for a slow mind?

Dark, regarding my previous question...did I just misread it, did you make a correction, or you just digitally fubarring (sp) my mind?
