Yes. I understand. Reminds me of a seven-mile stretch of road which had been the brunt of a two-day ice storm. Seven miles. Took me forty-five minutes to drive it. I'll never forget that drive. At night by the way.

I hate it when my replies get eaten.  Well, as I said already ... (grins) ... I feel like you are talking to me when I read much of your poetry.  I know these roads .. and to know them is to hate them.

I've been on that road many many times.

Great picture and the poetic expression is right on!

Beautiful photo and lovely poem, especially that exquisite middle line.  The only snow experience I have had was having a snowfight in a few inches of patchy snow once on the way home for the weekend with friends, shortly after I had started teaching.  I didn't think of snow or ice being dangerous and difficult to drive on, but duhhhh! of course it would be.

Glad you were safe, though it must have been scary.  I would imagine that it is not just the road, but what other drivers do as well.

this write is so cool it holds one's breath as if you were on that stretch, barely breathing as you slowly navigate it
