As the sun creeps below
the line of trees
You hear, faintly,
in the distance
"Hoot, Hoot"
The owls have wakened
from their day time
slumber
On the prowl they go
for a good mouse
or even a fat rat
Then back to their
hole in the tree
to slumber again
as the morning sun
creeps up to
start a new dawn

Hi, there!  Welcome to PIP.  I loved your poem.  Your imagery was vivid and there is a wonderful flow to your poem.  I'm looking forward to reading more of your work!

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

It is good to be back and thank you for the nice comment. I wanted to start anew.

Ah, after sating itself with a fat rat it is time to sit back, nod off and await for the morrow.

A very pleasing scenario, Julie...although not for the rat!

Nice to see you....
