Left on a battlefield without surrender
Abandoned by yon progeny last
Ever forgotten, cold pretender
Feelings lie buried by memories past

Thought-gobbets’ crystals are no longer clear
No longer mattering, no longer dear

Left in a corner without simple regard
Restrained not by caution’s care-filled hand
Overlooked, the distance rent apart
Discounted deeply in a no discount land

Thought-crystals’ gobbets are no longer clear
No longer mattering, no longer dear

As a smile and a glace seem to put me away
In a dark drawer’s duster, so cold and so gray

I will admit I had to look up the word
for gobbet, because I wanted to be sure
on its context.

It all fits, and it is thought-provoking.

Well done, Steven

I too had to look it up but yes, it's a very interesting piece you've written.

Nothing stays the same in reality.
Enjoyed reading and fathoming.....grin....

very deep and well-written...nice work as always!

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

Yep. Gobbet. We have learned a new word. Thanks for that. And the poem that word revolved around wasn't bad either. Nice work.

hey guys, so then I am not alone with learning a new word...and I am in great company...I didn't find the word and write around it, rather I needed a word for it and found the word...so glad you all liked it...Sunshine, Eric, faithm, JerryPat, and me...we all get a vocabulary star for the day!
