.

Snow collects
On a chain link fence

The air itself
Is partially white
And moving

A man no one
You will ever know
Is clearing the sidewalk
In front of his house

There are two oaks
With leafless branches
Each on its corner
Just outside the yard

One can actually feel
The smell of cooking
Which is somehow warm
Despite the cold

One could do worst
Than homemade food
On Winter’s afternoon

The strictured curtains
Prim and still

The two oaks just embrace this whole scenery beautifully.

Love this much.

Quite the word picture scene you've painted. I know I've looked in on the same bungalow before.
Well done!

my soul, for a moment I thought you were painting a picture of my home...still can't get into the back yard for the snow drifts against the gate...lovely picture painted by your words...enjoyed with an familiar closeness

This is like a caught breath just hanging on a frozen image. Beautiful.
