Lovely Bonsai Tree
tortured over many years
to twist and stunt growth

Oh, the Bonsai Tree
And we humans are alike
Our growth can be bent.

I liked you poem very much, Lori.

Glad you liked it Jerry and thanks for picking up on the deeper meaning I was going for.

Lori, Jerry- Enjoyed both takes on the rather twisted Bonsai Tree.

In a previous life,
I attempted bonsai
but to keep any one thing
from potential?
It was just too bizarre,
even though I understood
why
it might exist
in another part of earth
....

Thought provoking to say the least, dear Lori! And Jerry's reply too.

Free growth can seem ideal and yet without some appropriate directions chaos might overtake.

But we do exaggerate when we force things into forms that correspond only to our own desire. A question of respect.

Very good.

Love,
Margherita
