and as they took
that man away
the reason for
her existence

I heard her fear

I saw her cries

her pain was
...astounding

and in that moment
the fear had set in
the fear of giving
one's self without
any hesitation
I saw the power
one can have
over another
a thing called
     "love"
the day
my mother
had laid my
   father
      to rest.

-Trina.

When you decide to walk away- walk away.  Don't look back, In that moment you'll lose trust and faith- in yourself.

Exceptional portrayal of emotions here Trina.

"the fear of giving
one's self without
any hesitation"

That's just a classic line!

This poem brings back memories of an aunt of mine. She tried to crawl into the casket with her husband. What a sad, sad day.

You wrote this so well, Trina.

I ache for your mother's pain.  My family and friends thought I was going to jump into my beloved horse's grave when he was buried 8 and three quarter years ago.

The funerals of someone who is much loved is a very tragic thing. I have seen women try to get inside the coffin with their husband. Horrible pain she must have had.
