Poetry in Plaid

Bagpipes ring in my ears
Coloring my dreams in plaid
I smell the mist of the mountains
And soft air that melts into dew
Lush green carpets the ground
While the wind carries a plaintive song
And trips over the tap of the snare

Leading me to a home
I may never know

Really, really like this one, Alison gal. Scotland is one of the places that inspire thoughts like this, along with Ireland, Hawaii, islands in the south Pacific and other exotic lands....places we know so much of we can almost taste them but   have never, and may never, see.

You always come up with such interesting topics!

Ah, the mysterious and compelling story of inner sanctum thoughts which come from nowhere and may lead to adventure with a good chance for peace and comfort at the end of the journey. At least that is what this goy got out of it. Nice work.

DS,

Come to think of it, it could have been ice rattling in the pipes too!  Thanks, friend of mine.

'Deer,
Isn't it funny how some places call to us.  I just write where my mind goes. Scarey, huh.

Thank you for reading, Jerry.  There are places that just make me want to curl up and relax when I think of them.  Scotland is not one of those places (grins) ~ so much history and war.

I love to hear bagpipes. Coming from a Scottish background. I think Scotland is in the blood and is always that faraway home even if you've never been there.
