TO WHISPER

To whisper is to dust some little words around a sigh
A gathering of angels is a child’s lullaby
Laughter is the fun of life that bubbles from within
A smile rests upon your face, but deeper than your skin

To open up the floodgates of the spirit is to weep
To lay your weary heart into God’s cradle is to sleep
Wishing is to visualize a rainbow’s golden end
Sneezing is to beg a little blessing from friend

Good Morning is what truly spins the planet into play
Coughing lets you hesitate and think of what to say
Skipping measures happiness and teardrops measure pain
Band-Aids are for sympathy, umbrellas are for rain

Waking is like opening your secret dreams to light
Memories are photographs of life in black and white
Hugging is what everybody does before they part
Kissing is a universal whisper from the heart

Silence is the song that roses sing in morning’s chill
Dreaming is what poets do before they lift a quill

Liz,
Poetry in it's purest form. My favorite line,
"Good Morning is what truly spins the planet into play"

Yes. All, but especially the two ending lines. Fragrant.

I loved all your definitions, but these two are my favorites:

"Laughter is the fun of life that bubbles from within
Kissing is a universal whisper from the heart"

...excellent...enjoyed

I love all of this poem, but I am going to cough much more often in life.

Thank you for this and for the other gifts of poetry you have placed upon the boards here.

My father's "good morning" always smelled like rich coffee...it was always a delight. These are good memories, Lady Santos...and I abide that they shall always be so.
