Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Heartsleeve left in the rain
for places and faces unknown
The kindness of strangers
despite all the dangers
was where she was goin'
to see how she looked
in their eyes
She needed a new opinion
of herself to believe in
and strangers tell the best lies.

Out of the frying pan into the fire?

Nice economy of words to get your scene painted. The reader fills in the blanks easily here and adds a great deal.

Good stuff Lori!

Candy us dandy, but . . .

Do what you have to do, just do  it right.

which makes us intolerant by default.—July 26, 2010 ~

hey Jerry you slipped in on me!

"Do what you have to do, just do  it right."
...and who gets to be the judge of that?

...cool write, with such a nice twist at the end...

"She needed a new opinion
of herself to believe in
and strangers tell the best lies."

...love that line
